News coming in indicated that election petition tribunal has nullified the election of Governor Duoye Diri of Bayelsa state. The judgement that nullified the election was made in Abuja and was presided by Justice Ibrahim Sirajo. The nullification of the election was on the grounds that one of the registered political parties was not allowed to participate in the November 16, 2019 governorship election. The tribunal verdict was delivered in Abuja on Monday, August 17, 2020, after a petition was filed by the Advanced Nigeria Democratic Party (ANDP).
