After making 32 appearances for Napoli last season and scoring 18 goals in all competitions, Osimhen is apparently garnering interest from certain Premier League clubs, including Manchester United and Chelsea.

The Nigerian international, who joined Napoli in the summer of 2020 from French Ligue 1 club Lille, is eager to stay in Naples nonetheless and repay the faith Napoli has placed in him.

Osimhen scored a lot of goals last season, but he also missed two months of action after getting into a head-on collision with Milan Skriniar of Inter Milan in a Serie A match. He later returned wearing a face mask.

“Even though I have gone through some extremely trying times privately, Napoli has always remained important to me, which is one of the reasons I am here. I’m content, I’m in a lovely city, and this club is fantastic “He said with Corriere dello Sport.

“Diego Maradona, the best player to ever play the game, played here, making Naples one of the best cities in the world to play football. I consider it a privilege and a great honor to play in the stadium he was named for. I’m fine here, and I’ve never had such close relationships with everyone as I do right now. These are just market rumors.

“I spoke to the president; he is the one who makes decisions, and he reassured me by outlining the club’s intentions. My satisfaction with what he told me and the high quality of the purchases shows that his words were followed by acts. We shall see in the future, but I am thrilled to play for Napoli.

David Ospina, Lorenzo Insigne, Kalidou Koulibaly, and Dries Mertens are just a few of the players Napoli has lost before the new campaign.
