A number of Nigerians who intend to travel to the United Arab Emirates are in for the shock of their lives. This is because the UAE has forbidden Emirates Airlines, its national carrier, from making trips to Nigeria. Only a week had passed after the UAE government banned the issuing of visas to citizens of Nigeria before the airline and UAE officials made their decision.

On November 3, the airline of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Emirates, abruptly canceled all of its flights to Nigeria due to concerns over its stuck funds there.
