Former Super Eagles captain, John Mikel Obi, and former Super Falcons forward, Mercy Akide, have been selected as members of the expert panel for the 2023 FIFA The Best Awards. They are part of a 30-member panel responsible for shortlisting candidates for these prestigious awards.

Mercy Akide, a retired Super Falcons forward, holds a prominent position as one of the 11 members overseeing the selection process for the women’s category. On the other hand, John Mikel Obi is among the 11 individuals tasked with shortlisting the nominees for the men’s category.

Notably, the panel also includes the renowned Didier Drogba from Cote d’Ivoire.
