WhoGoHost, a Nigerian cloud infrastructure firm, has announced its acquisition of SendChamp, a cloud-based communication startup, in a strategic move to enhance its value proposition for its clientele. The deal, which involves both cash and equity components, marks a significant step in WhoGoHost’s expansion plans.

SendChamp, co-founded by Goodness Kayode and Damilola Olotu in 2021, specializes in facilitating online messaging for African businesses through various channels, including SMS, WhatsApp, email, and voice. SendChamp’s CEO, Goodness Kayode, expressed alignment in vision with WhoGoHost, emphasizing the importance of effective online communication for entrepreneurs and businesses.

As part of the acquisition, SendChamp’s leadership will transition to roles within WhoGoHost. Goodness Kayode will assume the position of Chief Product Officer, while Damilola Olotu will serve as the Chief Technology Officer.

Initially, SendChamp will continue to operate independently for a limited period before integrating its services into the WhoGoHost platform, becoming “SendChamp by WhoGoHost” and eventually adopting the WhoGoHost company name.

The partnership is mutually beneficial, allowing both companies’ customers to access a broader range of services. WhoGoHost’s offerings, including domains, backups, security, and hosting, will become available to SendChamp customers, while SendChamp’s products, covering SMS, emails, WhatsApp, Facebook, Instagram, and customer support solutions, will be accessible to WhoGoHost’s customer base.

Opeyemi Awoyemi, the founder of WhoGoHost, sees this acquisition as an opportunity to transform the company into a comprehensive digital service provider for entrepreneurs and businesses across Africa, expanding beyond its traditional domain-hosting services. Notably, this move follows WhoGoHost’s previous acquisitions of TheExpertHost and iHost Africa in 2016.
