Victor Boniface, the Super Eagles striker, recently achieved a remarkable milestone in the German Bundesliga, breaking a 29-year-old record for the most shots on goal in the first five rounds of games. The previous record, held by Uwe Wegmann from Bochum during the 1994/1995 season, was at 25 shots on goal.

Boniface accomplished this feat during Bayer Leverkusen’s 4-1 victory over Heidenheim at the BayArena on Sunday. Impressively, he also played a pivotal role in two of Bayer Leverkusen’s goals on that day.

Despite his exceptional performance, Boniface expressed his disappointment in his post-match comments, feeling that he could have done even better. He stated, “If you have 38 shots on goal as a player, you should have scored at least 25 goals. So I don’t want to congratulate myself on that.”

It’s worth noting that Boniface has only failed to make a goal contribution for Bayer Leverkusen once this season, during their 2-2 draw with Bayern Munich on matchday 4 of the Bundesliga. In total, he has scored 8 goals across all competitions for the Black and Reds this campaign.
